We have a great year of workshops at discount prices, members' only art shows, and art exhibits that showcase the work created by your talented students.

PBCATA raises money which goes directly to our scholarship fund.  Every year, two scholarships are awarded in the amount of $1,000 each to students pursuing a college degree in the Visual Arts.

Along with raising money for the scholarships, PBCATA also sponsors ribbons annually for the South Florida Fair and the Palm Beach County School District Annual K-12 Student Art Exhibition.

At the 2013 Florida Art Education Association (FAEA) conference in October, five local art educators were selected as FAEA board members by their peers. Each of the representatives are also members of the Palm Beach County Art Teachers Association (PBCATA). Dr. Nicole Crane, PBCATA Treasurer and FAEA President Elect had the following to say, “We are honored to serve on the Florida Arts Education Association Board of Directors. The number of local art teachers on the Board demonstrates the strength and quality of arts education in Palm Beach County. As board members, we plan to continue the momentum of arts advocacy and increase the quality of arts education in our county and throughout Florida.”

PBCATA MISSION

It is the mission of the Palm Beach County Art Teachers Association to support art education and to promote art as a means of communication for each individual. It is the right of each individual to develop his own creativity and aesthetic potential. It is our purpose to strengthen the position of art education in Palm Beach County. We support programs in art which meet the needs, interests and abilities of each individual student. We will promote and maintain the highest quality of art education in Palm Beach County.

FAEA MISSION

Florida Art Education Association (FAEA) is a membership association dedicated to providing visual art educators in Florida with the knowledge, skills and support that will ensure the highest quality instruction possible to all students in Florida. Serving visual art teachers, professors, administrators, museum educators and students, the Florida Art Education Association: encourages research in art education; holds public discussions; sponsors institutes and conferences; publishes articles, reports and surveys; honors outstanding art educators and supporters; and works with other related agencies in support of visual arts education. FAEA is also the only organization for visual art educators in Florida which actively participates in a program for government relations on behalf of visual arts education. When arts education is discussed in the legislature in Tallahassee, FAEA is working to support your programs.
