Art Supervisor

Petition school board for another supervisor this way PBC will have a music as well as a Visual Arts supervisor.  We need to come up with a detailed job description and some data.  We will need to write a list of what this person should expect and why we need a 2nd supervisor.  Ask Broward/Dade for advice.

Some things: mentor new art teachers, workshops, etc.

CALL TO ACTION

PBCATA NEEDS YOUR HELP!!

We are seeking member officers and committee leaders.

Step up and be a part of the action!

Downtown at the Gardens

Once again this year Downtown at the Gardens will present “Downtown in Bloom,” a celebration of flora and fauna spread across Downtown’s campus.  The event will take place on March 31st and April 1st.

In 2011, over 8,000 people visited Downtown during the event which features large display gardens, arts, and entertainment and plant sales.

As an added attraction, we will be creating an opportunity for our friends in the non-profit world to capitalize on our successes and raise funds for your organization.  Ten local organizations will be chosen to create signature flowering displays along The Boulevard at Downtown.

Each organization will be given a 10’x10’ display area.  Your design may be as tall as you want, it just must fit within the 10x10 space.  Additionally, 80% of your display must be created using natural or “live” display pieces.  (Flowers, plants, bark etc.)  We recommend that you partner with a design team or florist to make your vision come to reality.  Displays will be built on site during the afternoon of March 30th.

What’s in it for you?  Over the two days, Downtown at the Gardens will encourage our guests to “vote” for their favorite displays.  A donation stand will be securely placed at each location, guests will vote for their favorites with $1 donations.  Each dollar equals one vote.  At the end of the two days, Downtown at the Gardens will match up to $1,000 the team with the most votes, and up to $500 the second place recipient.  Throughout the weekend you will be able to promote your services to the guests of Downtown at your display area.

All organizations will keep the money they are pledged through votes.  Additionally, each of the 10 participating charities will be guaranteed a “carousel day,” in 2012 to receive all proceeds from the Downtown Carousel.

Interested?  Please complete the attached form no later than Noon on Jan 31 for consideration.  The 10 selected organizations will be announced on Wednesday, Feb 1st.

WOULD PBCATA BE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING? GUARANTEED A DATE FOR THE SEASONS OF GIVING IN THE 2012-2013.
